I would like to study at the School of Aerospace Sciences. What programmes or courses are available? How do I apply?

The School of Aerospace Sciences offers:

  1. Non-degree Flight programmes and
  2. Degree programmes.

The non-degree Flight programmes available are as follows:

  1. Private Pilot Licence
  2. Commercial Pilot Licence

The Degree progrmmes are as follows:

  1. Bachelor of Civil Aviation Management
  2. Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences. The programme has 3 options:-
    • Aviation Security
    • Aerospace Logistics
    • Professional Pilot

Note: To apply for any of the programmes above, one has to meet the admission requirements.

To be admitted into the Bachelor of Civil Aviation Management programme, one has to meet the following Admission Requirements:

  1. Must have a mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University Senate and have C+ (Plus) in Mathematics, C+ (Plus) in English Language and C+ (Plus) in any Business Related course. OR
  2. Must be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with two principals (2 P) Plus at least a pass in Maths and English at O’ Level
  3. Be a holder of a Diploma in Aviation Studies validated by Commission for University Education (CUE) with at least a credit OR
  4. Be a holder of a professional certificate in Aviation Studies recognized by CUE

The Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences programme has three (3) options (Aviation Security Option, Aerospace Logistics Option, Professional Pilot Option), therefore;

to be admitted into the following Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences - Aviation Security Option, one has to meet the following Admission Requirements:

  1.  A candidate must have a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus) in KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University Senate and have: C+ (Plus) in Mathematics, C+ (Plus) in English, C+(Plus) in Geography/Chemistry, OR
  2. Must be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with two Principals (2P) and one subsidiary and two of the principal subjects must be any two in Mathematics, Economics or Geography or its equivalent from Institutions recognized by Moi University Senate. In addition a candidate should have at least Credit Four in English at ‘O’ Level.

to be admitted into the following Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences - Aerospace Logistics Option, one has to meet the following Admission Requirements:

  1. A candidate must have a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus) in KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University Senate and have: C+(Plus) in Mathematics, C+(Plus) in English, C+(Plus) in Business Studies or Commerce, C+(Plus) in Geography/Chemistry, OR
  2. Must be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with two Principals (2P) and one subsidiary and two of the principal subjects must be any two in Mathematics, Economics or Geography or its equivalent from Institutions recognized by Moi University Senate. In addition a candidate should have at least Credit Four in English at ‘O’ Level.

  1. A candidate must have a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus) in KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University senate and have: C+ (Plus) in Mathematics, C+ (Plus) in Physics, C+ (Plus) in English and C+ (Plus) in Geography/Chemistry
  2. A candidate must be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with two Principals (2P) and one subsidiary and two of the principal subjects must be any two of Mathematics, Physics or Geography/Chemistry or its equivalent from Institutions recognized by Moi University Senate. In addition a candidate should have at least credit four in English at ‘O’ Level.
  3. In addition they must meet the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Medical Certificate (2nd Class) requirements for the Pilot Licenses
